Developing the Railroad Valley Super-Brine Complex:

The largest lithium and boron deposit in North America

WHO WE ARE

3 Proton Lithium (3PL) is a U.S. owned and operated private company engaged in the exploration and development of critical minerals in Railroad Valley, Nevada.

Led by CEO and geologist Vincent Ramirez, 3PL’s leadership team comprises geologists, petrophysicists and geochemists with over 200 years of combined experience in the energy sector. Today, 3PL has assembled leases and mining claims comprising more than 58 square miles (37,350 acres), representing the largest claim block in Nevada.

This resource contains the largest identified lithium resource in North America. The overall lithium resource of 119 million tons is larger than the other proposed lithium projects combined within the United States. The measured boron resource is significantly higher than any identified North American project with concentrations measured in the brine that exceed the highest known boron concentrations, including Mono Lake in eastern California.

The successful drilling for brine deposits in Railroad Valley by 3PL in 2018 led to the discovery of a large Pliocene evaporate sequence.  These continental salt deposits are 1,000 feet thick or more, and cover about 40 square miles; early estimates indicate that about 20 billion tons of salt exists here.  This ”super-brine complex” may be unique because it contains both abundant solid phase and abundant liquid phase evaporitic salts.

The area of Railroad Valley represents a unique region of sedimentary facies that are related to active techtonism that  became pronounced in early Pliocene time and formed a closed basin depocenter.  We believe the super-brine complex is intimately related to underlying Miocene strata, which will likely provide important source material for the brine.
Reevaluation of these conclusions exposed many other paradigms that were reevaluated in the exploration effort that led to this discovery.  Analyses indicate several complex salt groups are present, and the primary industrial minerals identified so far are sodium, potassium, sulfate, phosphorous, boron, tungsten and lithium.

The best mineral description of Railroad Valley is essentially that of a ”bathtub” for the Great Basin (which is why this unique super-brine was deposited with its mineral-rich complex in a concentrated area).  The focus of our mineral exploration is the salts and brines, not in clay or hard rock.

A recent United States Geological Services (USGS) minerals report identified 98 million tons of lithium resource worldwide and 12 million tons in the United States.  Railroad Valley would conservatively triple the lithium resources currently identified in the United States.

While there are others claiming to have found significant amounts of lithium and other materials in the United States, in particular Nevada, the minerology of this project is unparalleled due to its unique geological history.

The development of this resource is very capable of “moving the needle” here in the United States.
